Graphite Figure Drawing with Darren Kingsley
This continuing education course offers a structured approach to figure drawing using graphite. The class begins with short, one-day poses designed to introduce students to the block-in process and the fundamentals of proportion, gesture, and structure.
From there, the course transitions to a single sustained long pose carried over several weeks. Students will work through each stage of development: light–shadow block-in, anatomical and structural studies, large form modeling, and finishing techniques.
Each session opens with a demonstration, and the instructor will work alongside the class on the long pose as an extended demo. Individual critiques and one-on-one guidance at the easel ensure that every student receives personal attention while advancing their drawing practice.
This course is designed for artists seeking to strengthen their draftsmanship, develop a deeper understanding of the figure, and refine their ability to render with clarity and sensitivity in graphite.
This 10-day class meets on Tuesdays from 6pm-9pm beginning September 30th.
